Designing Our Entryway

A couple of weeks ago I shared some entryway inspiration of spaces that invoke a calm peaceful feeling when you walk in the front door. Cliff and I were feeling so inspired that we decided to design our entryway.

I can't say that we gave it a makeover because there really wasn't anything there, other than a blank wall and an old chest that we threw stuff on top of. So we were really starting from scratch. We thought about how we come home, where we tend to put things, and if we got really organized, where we might hope to find things like our keys, wallet, jackets, and shoes.

I repurposed some things that we had around the house including some baskets, a coat rack, and one of my favorite photos. We also purchased a few things to make the space more functional like this awesome little bench from Ikea, this beautiful mirror (also from Ikea), and a console table that I found on Craigslist. Throw in some fresh flowers to tie everything together and we have ourselves a lovely little entryway.

Baskets hold things like mail and stroller blankets.

And what entry would be complete without a guy and his dog?
