Painting furniture or architectural details the same color as the walls can help make things invisible or really highlight them in a space. I love how it can really bring a room together (and using leftover paint is always great!) Here are a few ways to use this decorating technique:
- Paint the walls and trim the same color to unify a room. You can bring in pops of color with furniture and artwork. In the photo above the painted walls, trim, and fireplace, set the stage for the contrast of the chairs and the rug.
- Paint storage furniture the same color as the walls to create the illusion of built-ins.
- Strategically place painted accents like shelving or decorative accents to draw visual interest to a part of the room.
- Add texture to a wall with painted frames or accents in the same color.
