Five Things for the Weekend

One of the new apartment buildings in downtown Redwood City just sold for $213 million, or roughly $700,000 per unit. That appears to be a record in Redwood City, and shows strong investor demand even as market observers question how long the economy will hold out.

Another Redwood City housing development in the early planning stages is getting pushback. The proposal is for an eight-story 350-unit complex and if it's approved the building will be about the size of the Box building downtown.

The City of Redwood City announced that June 12th - June 19th is Butterfly Education and Awareness Week in an effort to raise awareness about the benefits of butterfly conservation. Find out what you can do to participate here.

An important aspect of the City’s service delivery is providing water and sewer services to the community. Later this June, City Council will consider a number of budget and policy actions to ensure the City can continue to provide reliable high quality water and sewer services for the long term. Check out this blog post for details on these efforts.

And, here are this weekend's open houses. Don't miss this Mount Carmel rancher and this classic Eichler.
